Agribusiness and Agro-Processing: Invest in Africa’s Value Chains at UKAIS 2026

Bankable opportunities across processing, industrial parks and export-ready food systems take centre stage at the 16th UK–Africa Investment Summit.

Africa grows the commodities. The world buys them. The margin sits offshore. UKAIS 2026 is built to change that math, with a dedicated plenary on Agribusiness, Food Systems and Value Addition, and a deal-ready project pipeline that turns agricultural promise into industrial output.

The summit will showcase greenfield agro-industrial opportunities including a $48.1M soluble coffee processing factory in Mukono, a $24.3M cocoa processing plant in Bundibugyo, a $37.8M sugar facility in Busoga, a $44.3M spinning mill in Lira, and a $16.5M cassava processing factory in Pader. Each project is government-facilitated, PPP or JV structured, and supported by Uganda Investment Authority’s end-to-end investor services.

The opportunity extends across Africa’s priority markets, from Ghana’s cocoa and Kenya’s agri-tech to Ethiopia’s industrial parks, Nigeria’s food systems, and Côte d’Ivoire’s agribusiness platforms. Investors will engage directly with ministries, project developers, development finance institutions and corporate operators driving processing capacity, supply-chain integration and export competitiveness.

The thesis is sharp. Agriculture employs over 60% of Africa’s workforce and contributes around 23% of sub-Saharan GDP, yet remains chronically underinvested. UKAIS 2026 is where that gap moves into capital deployment, structured matchmaking and post-summit execution.
