The UK–Africa Investment Summit 2026, known as UKAIS 2026, returns to London on Friday, 11 September 2026 at The Royal Horseguards Hotel & One Whitehall Place, 2 Whitehall Court, London SW1A 2EJ.

Now in its 16th edition, the Summit stands as the UK’s longest-running annual UK–Africa investment platform. Established in 2010, UKAIS has built institutional continuity across trade, investment, policy engagement, capital mobilisation, and cross-border commercial partnerships.

The 2026 edition is designed around one central proposition: access is no longer enough. African markets, UK investors, Indian industrial groups, and international project sponsors are moving towards production, value addition, industrial platforms, and execution-led partnerships. UKAIS 2026 provides the working floor where those interests can be structured, tested, and advanced.

The Summit will convene more than 600 delegates and over 300 senior decision-makers, with representation from 54 countries. It will operate across a curated week of deal rooms, sector investment suites, trade missions, and policy engagement. Prior editions have surfaced more than £2 billion in identified opportunities. The 2026 edition is built to move that pipeline into capital deployment, industrial partnerships, and measurable outcomes along the UK–Africa–India corridor.

“Access is no longer enough. The next phase of UK–Africa investment must be built around production, value addition, and execution.”

Sixteen years on the same line of work

Few UK–Africa platforms carry sixteen editions of continuity. UKAIS does.

Over successive editions, the Summit has narrowed the distance between intent and execution. Earlier years helped generate headline transactions and policy-led commitments. More recent editions have expanded the platform into structured matchmaking, post-summit trade missions, and corridor frameworks that allow conversations opened in London to be progressed in market.

The commercial pattern is clear. Capital that engages through UKAIS arrives with stronger information, faster routes to government, and a more realistic view of execution risk. For investors, that matters. Africa is not a single market. It is a continent of 54 countries, multiple regulatory systems, currency environments, infrastructure realities, and political economy contexts. A credible investment platform must therefore act as a filter, not a stage.

UKAIS 2026 is designed to perform that role.

The 2026 thesis: from access to production

The 2026 theme is Trade Corridors and Industrial Platforms: From Access to Production.

That theme reflects the commercial direction of travel. African markets are no longer asking only for market entry. They are asking for industrial co-investment, downstream processing, value addition, manufacturing capability, and partnerships that build productive capacity at scale.

UK capital, Indian engineering and manufacturing depth, and African resource and demand fundamentals now form a coherent commercial triangle. UKAIS 2026 is structured to underwrite that triangle through working sessions rather than ceremonial language.

Priority sectors: Critical minerals and downstream processing, agribusiness and food systems transformation, energy transition and renewables, digital trade and fintech, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and the cross-border infrastructure corridors that unlock regional value chains under AfCFTA.

Uganda enters the 2026 edition as Strategic Growth Partner, with the Tenfold Growth Strategy and the ATMS industrial pillars providing a structured commercial anchor for investment dialogue, production partnerships, and in-market follow-through.

Programme architecture: deal rooms, sector suites, country roundtables

UKAIS 2026 is organised across three working spaces at The Royal Horseguards Hotel & One Whitehall Place.

The Gladstone, Reading and Writing Room will host the main plenary track. This includes the keynote address, the trilateral corridor panel, the critical minerals and downstream processing session, the Uganda strategic growth session, and the closing Investment Showcase.

The River Room will run the parallel country track, including the 16 priority destinations showcase and the East Africa Opportunity Roundtable.

Churchill’s Bar will be reserved for pre-arranged one-to-one investor meetings and deal structuring.

The programme balance is deliberate. Forty per cent of the day is allocated to plenary content for policy alignment and capital signals. Thirty per cent is focused on sector deep dives across mining, agribusiness, energy, and digital. Twenty per cent is allocated to matchmaking, bilateral meetings, and rapid project pitches. The remaining ten per cent is reserved for transition and curated networking.

The intent is conversion. Pitches feed into the UKAIS Deal Book. Bilateral meetings feed into post-summit follow-up. Sector suites feed into trade missions.

A summit week, not a single day

The 16th edition runs as a structured week of investor engagement.

The Uganda to UK Trade and Investment Mission opens proceedings on Wednesday, 9 September 2026. The India–Africa Investment Awards take place at the House of Commons on Thursday, 10 September 2026. UKAIS 2026 convenes on Friday, 11 September 2026. The week closes on Saturday, 12 September 2026 with the World Book of Records sponsored Gala Dinner and Investment Awards at the House of Commons, delivered in partnership with SACCI.

The post-summit Trade Mission to Uganda runs from 2 to 15 November 2026. This is the in-market execution layer for capital matching, ministerial meetings, and site visits to the Namanve and Kapeeka industrial parks.

The Summit week and the November mission are designed as one commercial sequence. Engagement in London is intended to graduate into structured follow-through in market.

“London is the convening point. The commercial test is whether Summit-stage interest moves into in-market diligence, structuring, and execution.”

The UK–Africa–India corridor

The trilateral corridor is one of the most commercially distinctive features of UKAIS 2026.

The logic is practical. Indian manufacturing capability, Uganda-based production and value addition, and UK capital structuring and advisory can sit within a single partnership architecture. The Summit provides the convening point where that architecture can be built and tested.

The framework is anchored in a Tripartite Working Group hosted under Uganda’s Office of the Prime Minister, established after the February 2026 mission to Uganda.

For UK investors, the corridor opens access to Indian co-investors with manufacturing and engineering depth. For Indian groups, it opens access to UK capital structuring, DFI relationships, and English-law deal architecture. For African governments and project sponsors, it brings capital and industrial capability into the same conversation, at the same table, on the same day.

That is where the Summit has a clear strategic edge. It is not only about who attends. It is about whether the right parties can move from introduction to structure.

From engagement to execution

The Summit’s positioning is direct. UKAIS is an execution environment, not just a forum.

The architecture is built to convert pipeline into deployed capital. Investor bilateral meetings are pre-arranged and pre-screened. Country roundtables are organised around investor-ready projects, not ceremonial briefings. The Investment Showcase concludes the day with five-minute pitches and live investor Q&A, with selected projects feeding into the UKAIS Deal Book.

Follow-through is institutional. The November Trade Mission to Uganda exists specifically to take Summit-stage commercial interest into in-market diligence, partner validation, government engagement, and structuring.

For serious investors, that distinction matters. Conferences create visibility. Execution platforms create process. UKAIS 2026 is built around process.

Why London on 11 September matters

Africa’s growth window is not theoretical. AfCFTA is operational. Critical minerals demand is rising. African pension and sovereign wealth assets now exceed USD 2 trillion. Capital allocation decisions taken in 2026 will shape commercial position for the next decade.

UK investors who arrive late will pay entry prices set by first movers. UKAIS 2026 is the day where UK capital, Indian industry, and African market opportunity meet in structured form, in London, with a working programme designed to produce post-summit outcomes.

For governments, the Summit is a route to structured investor engagement. For investors, it is a filter on a continent of 54 countries and a route into investor-ready pipeline. For corporates and exporters, it is a working floor for market entry and partnership. For the UK, it is a strategic platform for renewing its commercial position on a continent where it has historic relationships and contemporary catching up to do.
