Hon. Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu
Hon. Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu is Uganda’s Minister of Internal Affairs, serving in a senior Cabinet role responsible for internal security, law and order, peace and stability, citizenship, immigration, identification systems and related public administration functions.
His portfolio is central to Uganda’s institutional stability and investment environment. Internal security, predictable immigration services, identity management, border systems and public order all influence how investors, companies, delegations and project partners operate in the country.
Prof. Kamuntu brings long-standing public service, policy and economic management experience to his current role. He has previously served in senior Government portfolios and has been associated with Uganda’s work across economic planning, tourism, water and environment, private sector development and public administration.
At the UK–Africa Investment Summit 2026, his contribution will be relevant to discussions on Uganda’s investment-readiness environment, institutional coordination, secure business operations and the administrative systems that support trade, mobility and long-term commercial engagement.
His perspective will be particularly valuable for investors, project sponsors, business delegations and development partners assessing Uganda as a strategic growth market. Issues such as immigration facilitation, investor entry, national identification, security coordination and rule-based public administration are important to the movement from investor interest to execution.
Hon. Prof. Kamuntu’s participation aligns with the Summit theme, Trade Corridors and Industrial Platforms: From Access to Production. His role connects internal security, mobility, institutional confidence and public administration with the practical conditions needed to support capital deployment, project execution and production-led growth.
