Hon. Shyam Jay Tanna Member of Parliament, Tororo Municipality Republic of Uganda

Hon. Shyam Jay Tanna is a Member of Parliament for Tororo Municipality in the Parliament of Uganda.

He serves on the Parliamentary Committees on Foreign Affairs and Science, Technology and Innovation, placing him at the intersection of Uganda’s international engagement, policy development, technology agenda and investment outlook.

Hon. Tanna has a strong interest in trade, investment and private-sector development. With a business background and practical experience as a businessman, he is particularly focused on identifying credible investment and trade opportunities that can deliver practical value for Uganda.

At the UK–Africa Investment Summit 2026, his participation will support discussions on Uganda’s investment readiness, business partnerships, technology transfer, innovation, market access and private-sector growth.

He is also interested in successful business models, innovations and commercial approaches that could be replicated, adapted and introduced in Uganda, particularly where they support enterprise development, job creation, industrial growth and stronger trade links.

His participation aligns with the Summit theme, Trade Corridors and Industrial Platforms: From Access to Production, by connecting parliamentary insight, business experience and Uganda’s private-sector agenda with practical opportunities for trade, investment and innovation-led growth.
