Ivan Kanyali is a seasoned fintech and remittances expert with over 15 years of experience driving digital financial solutions, cross-border payments, and FX liquidity strategies across East Africa. As an Independent Business Consultant, Ivan currently supports e-payment and remittance firms in navigating market entry, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure optimisation in dynamic, fast-growth environments. He is widely regarded for his ability to broker strategic partnerships and streamline payout networks that reduce costs and improve settlement efficiency.

Prior to his consultancy role, Ivan served as Regional Manager for East Africa at Zepz, where he played a key role in consolidating regional partnerships and scaling the firm’s digital payout network. He previously led operations for WorldRemit in Uganda and Kenya, where he guided licensing efforts, drove country performance, and expanded local partnerships with regulators and financial institutions.

Ivan also brings significant banking experience, having held senior roles at Stanbic Bank Uganda as Head of Mobile Money and Product Manager for E-Collections within the Corporate and Investment Banking division. Earlier in his career, he was Head of Business Development at Interswitch East Africa, where he championed digital payment strategies and growth marketing initiatives.

His expertise spans regulatory licensing, FX settlement optimisation, remittance network expansion, and business model localisation for African markets. Ivan is based in Kampala, Uganda and operates in hybrid and cross-border advisory capacities.
