Executive Profile and Infrastructure Leadership

Maheswara Reddy Munnamgi is the Group Managing Director and Co-Founder of Dott Services Limited, one of Uganda's established indigenous engineering, construction and infrastructure development companies. Co-founded in Uganda in 1994, Dott Services has grown over more than 30 years of service into a major EPC contractor, infrastructure project developer, mine developer and operator. The company has built an investment base exceeding USD 200 million and operates across Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and India. Under his leadership, Dott Services has developed strong delivery capacity across roads, bridges, hydropower, irrigation schemes, buildings, power transmission and distribution lines, water and sewerage, mining infrastructure and industrial development.

Operational Capacity and Financial Bankability

Dott Services has invested in heavy plant, advanced machinery, quarries, asphalt plants, concrete batching plants, workshops, stores, warehouses and specialised engineering facilities. This asset base supports rapid mobilisation, stronger quality control and local project delivery at scale. The company employs more than 1,052 permanent staff and 5,623 temporary staff, supporting technical employment, skills development and local engineering capacity. Its current order book is approximately USD 517 million, with anticipated opportunities taking the wider pipeline to more than USD 1.35 billion. Dott Services has worked with major development finance institutions, commercial banks and international funders, including the World Bank, African Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank, BADEA, European Union, AFD, KfW, Afreximbank, Trade and Development Bank, UK Export Finance, Standard Chartered Bank, ABSA Bank, UBA Bank and DFCU Bank.

Track Record in Infrastructure Delivery

Dott Services has delivered major infrastructure projects across Uganda and the region. Its road and bridge portfolio includes more than 955.7 kilometres of tarmac roads in Uganda and more than 250.5 kilometres of tarmac roads in Tanzania. Its portfolio includes national roads, municipal roads, hydropower projects, water and sewerage systems, irrigation schemes, landfill and waste treatment facilities, power transmission and distribution networks, industrial buildings and mining operations. In hydropower, Dott Services has acted as EPC contractor on projects including Kabalega 9MW, Waki 4.8MW, Nyagak III 6.6MW and the ongoing Nengo Bridge 8.6MW project. The company has also developed in-house capacity in hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical works, including steel pipe bending, rolling, testing, installation and commissioning for hydropower infrastructure.

Transport and Regional Trade Corridors

Dott Services' corridor work includes strategic road infrastructure designed to improve trade, logistics and regional integration. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the company was awarded works for the construction and upgrading of routes connecting Uganda and DRC, including Kasindi-Beni, Beni-Butembo and Bunagana-Rutshuru-Goma. These routes are intended to strengthen bilateral trade, improve movement of goods and people, ease business operations and support regional integration. This experience is directly relevant to UKAIS 2026's focus on building trade corridors, not conference panels.

Kampala Industrial and Business Park, Namanve

A major example of Dott Services' industrial infrastructure role is the 2,200-acre Kampala Industrial and Business Park at Namanve, Uganda's largest industrial park. The project is being delivered through Lagan Dott Namanve Limited, a joint venture between Lagan Group Limited of the United Kingdom and Dott Services Limited of Uganda. The joint venture combines international standards and experience with local knowledge and delivery capacity. The infrastructure works include upgrading gravel roads to tarmac, water supply, sewerage networks, solid waste holding and treatment facilities, 33kV power networks, street lighting, IT infrastructure and telecoms.

Namanve demonstrates the UKAIS 2026 investment logic in practice: UK capability, Ugandan execution, industrial infrastructure, long-term finance and production-led growth brought together to make an industrial platform commercially viable for local and international investors.

Systems, Compliance and Sustainability

Dott Services operates with formal quality, environmental and safety systems. The company is accredited with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. The company was ranked as a leading construction company under Uganda's Contractor Registration and Classification System, carried out by the Ministry of Works and Transport in collaboration with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority. Dott Services monitors national and international health, safety and environmental standards across its projects and has experience in environmental and social impact assessments and monitoring plans aligned with international practice.

UKAIS 2026 Summit Contribution

At UKAIS 2026, Maheswara Reddy will speak in the infrastructure session, bringing a practical project-delivery perspective on how roads, industrial parks, power, water, sewerage, logistics and mining infrastructure can support production-led growth. His contribution will focus on industrial infrastructure, EPC delivery, transport corridors, hydropower, utilities, local contractor capacity, international joint ventures, development finance and the bankability of infrastructure platforms. His experience is relevant to investors, DFIs, banks, contractors, manufacturers, mining operators and project sponsors seeking to understand how African infrastructure projects can move from policy ambition to execution through local capacity, international finance and disciplined project delivery.

Alignment with UKAIS 2026

Maheswara Reddy's participation aligns directly with the Summit theme, Trade Corridors and Industrial Platforms: From Access to Production. His work demonstrates how infrastructure can unlock industrial parks, reduce logistics costs, support manufacturing, strengthen energy access, improve investor confidence and create the physical foundations for export-led growth. Through Dott Services, he represents the type of African infrastructure operator UKAIS exists to connect with capital, international partners and production-linked project pipelines.
