Perez Ochieng – Championing Food Innovation and Sustainable Trade

Perez Ochieng is a visionary entrepreneur and food technologist dedicated to transforming the global food industry through disruptive innovation, sustainability, and inclusive economic development. As the Founder and leader of SACOMA’s Food Innovation and R&D Department, she drives the development of health-focused snack brands and sweet potato-based products, linking African farmers—especially in Kenya—into EU supply chains.

With a strong background in food innovation and packaging (MSc), Perez combines entrepreneurial leadership with scientific expertise to promote agro-industrial transformation, food traceability, and climate-resilient logistics. She is a passionate advocate for circular economy practices, blockchain transparency, and skills transfer through Industry 4.0 and Big Data/IoT applications.

An importer/exporter and manufacturing operator in the UK, she believes the future of Africa–EU trade lies in investing in food science, smart logistics, and youth-focused agritech. Perez is committed to building sustainable supply chains, reducing food waste, and empowering communities to live healthier lives through access to nutritious, innovative food products.
