Sakhila Mirza
President, Responsible Gold
Sakhila Mirza is President of Responsible Gold, a blockchain-enabled ecosystem that traces ethically sourced gold from mine to vault. She leads the company’s next phase of growth, with a focus on the practical implementation of responsible sourcing frameworks and the scaling of digital traceability solutions across global markets.
She is also a portfolio manager at Pandion Asset Management, a US SEC-registered investment adviser, bringing a strong capital markets perspective to the responsible minerals and precious metals sector.
Sakhila brings more than a decade of experience at the centre of the global bullion market. Before joining Responsible Gold in 2025, she served as Deputy Chief Executive and General Counsel of the London Bullion Market Association, where she helped shape standards governing trust, transparency and market integrity in the gold trade.
Her work has covered responsible sourcing, market conduct, refiner accreditation through the Good Delivery List and the Global Precious Metals Code. A lawyer by training, with earlier compliance experience in the commodities sector, she is recognised as an authoritative voice on responsible sourcing, supply-chain integrity and precious metals governance.
At UKAIS 2026, Sakhila will participate in Session 2: The Critical Minerals and Infrastructure Deal Room. Her contribution will focus on international standards, traceability, data and risk management as the foundations of trusted and valued mineral supply chains.
She will address refining as a critical choke point in the mineral value chain, and why strong governance at this stage is essential to ensure that value is retained, verified and fairly distributed across stakeholders, from producer nations and mining operators to refiners, buyers and financial markets.
Drawing on standards applied across multiple jurisdictions, Sakhila will set out how transparent data, disciplined risk management and responsible sourcing frameworks can convert raw mineral output into compliant, investable and market-ready supply.
Her participation aligns with the Summit theme, Trade Corridors and Industrial Platforms: From Access to Production. It strengthens the discussion on how Uganda and wider African mineral markets can build bankable, compliant and investor-ready value chains connected to global buyers, refiners and capital.
