The UK’s Africa strategy in 2025 reflects a clear pivot towards investment-led engagement. By moving beyond traditional aid structures, the UK is positioning itself as a trusted partner in Africa’s growth journey.
Feedback from the government’s consultation highlighted the importance of equality, co-creation, and respect. African stakeholders called for partnerships aligned to their priorities under Agenda 2063, and the UK is responding with initiatives that mobilise private capital and foster sustainable trade.
One of the flagship instruments is the Mobilist Fund, a £100m facility designed to unlock investment in SDG-focused businesses, including those in Africa. This is supported by new trade-finance facilities launched at UK–Africa forums, targeting sectors from e-mobility in East Africa to SME trade in West Africa.
At the same time, diplomatic engagement is deepening, with UK ministers and envoys strengthening ties on the ground. Long-term commitment is creating the right conditions for investment, ensuring that projects are not just financed but sustained.
The Summit will highlight how UK–Africa partnerships are being reshaped through trade and investment, building a foundation for shared prosperity.
