Globespan Infrastructure Ltd: Uganda Infrastructure Partnership Brief
Globespan Infrastructure is positioning its Uganda programme around strategic infrastructure, investment mobilisation and local capacity development. The company has outlined a proposed framework spanning six priority infrastructure areas for Uganda. These are priority infrastructure programmes under consideration, not confirmed or contracted projects.
Six Priority Infrastructure Programmes for Uganda · Proposed Framework
- Healthcare excellence: Modern regional hospitals, specialist medical facilities, medical training, research capacity and healthcare infrastructure to support strategic national projects
- Energy and industrial development: Power generation, including hydro, thermal and solar, transmission and distribution systems, refinery infrastructure, industrial zones, utility infrastructure, workforce accommodation and logistics support facilities
- Water, irrigation and dams: Irrigation schemes, multipurpose dams, agricultural water management and climate-resilient water security for growth
- Regional aviation: Regional airports, air cargo facilities, tourism gateways and business connectivity to link Uganda with regional markets
- Agricultural mechanisation: Tractors, farm machinery, storage facilities, agro-processing infrastructure and export-oriented production systems
- Roads and logistics corridors: Strategic highways, rural access roads, trade corridors and industrial logistics networks connecting communities, producers and markets
The Globespan model combines project structuring, investment mobilisation, export credit solutions, programme management and international technical expertise. The approach is designed to work alongside the Ugandan private sector through local contractors, consultants, suppliers, operators and workforce participation.
The central message is clear: infrastructure delivery must support local capacity, job creation, knowledge transfer and long-term economic value. This aligns with Uganda’s wider industrial transformation agenda and the UKAIS 2026 focus on trade corridors, industrial platforms and production-led growth.
