The 15th UK–Africa Business, Trade & Investment Summit opened in London with an inspiring address by Mr. Willy Mutenza, Chairman of the Summit, who welcomed ministers, ambassadors, investors, and business leaders from across Africa and the United Kingdom to a landmark edition focused on partnership, progress, and sustainable growth.
Since its founding in 2010, the Summit has evolved from a Uganda-focused business forum into a pan-African platform for investment diplomacy, connecting public and private sector leaders across more than 20 African nations. The 2025 edition reaffirmed the Summit’s mission: to connect capital with opportunity, and ideas with implementation.
In his keynote remarks, Mr. Mutenza highlighted how the Summit has matured into a trusted forum shaping UK–Africa economic relations. He acknowledged the contributions of distinguished dignitaries driving regional transformation, including Lord Dolar Popat, UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Uganda, Rwanda, and the DRC; Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs of Uganda; and Hon. Gen. David Muhoozi, Minister of State for Internal Affairs of Uganda.
He also extended a special welcome to HH Pujya Shri Sant Trilochan Das Maharaj Ji, the Summit’s Honorary Main Guest, and Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, Chairman of the Ruparelia Group, whose leadership and philanthropy continue to inspire enterprise excellence across the region.
“I encourage each of you to make the most of this opportunity to connect, collaborate, and shape the future of UK–Africa trade and investment. Together, we can turn dialogue into action and opportunity into growth.”
— Willy Mutenza, Chairman, UK–Africa Summit
Mr. Mutenza expressed deep gratitude to the Summit’s sponsors, institutional partners, and volunteers, whose continued support sustains its success. He emphasised that the Summit’s collaborative structure — linking investors, policymakers, and innovators — continues to create measurable outcomes across energy, infrastructure, agribusiness, technology, and finance.
As Africa’s economies diversify and accelerate, the UK–Africa Business, Trade & Investment Summit remains a strategic gateway for bilateral cooperation and investment acceleration. The 2025 edition is set to deepen engagement, unlock capital flows, and position Africa as a key frontier of global growth.
With its blend of policy dialogue, private-sector matchmaking, and high-level networking, the Summit reaffirms its role as the premier platform for driving shared prosperity between the UK and Africa — transforming commitment into collaboration, and collaboration into tangible progress.
